Elizabeth Suarez - Unique insight for an increasingly diverse business climate

Market Research

Market research is an essential first step when developing strategic plans and marketing communication. Market research attempts to gather relevant information for predicting audience response to what an organization says and does via any number of communication channels.

Elizabeth has conducted research for a number of highly visible Front Range organizations, some of which requiring her bilingual capabilities for conducting focus groups among Hispanic audiences.

Elizabeth’s approach to market research frequently employs the four-step sequence of the knowledge process: exploration, formation, execution, and measurement.

Several Project Highlights

New America School: Bilingual focus group research among recently-arrived immigrant teenage students. The purpose was to determine student needs and wants — firsthand and in their own words, which was ultimately used as input for program development.

Colorado Commission on Higher Learning: This project was undertaken with Walt Klein Advertising. The project involved several focus groups of middle school and high school students, for determining issues that affected their decision making about attending college.

American Lung Association of Colorado: This focus group project was conducted among several groups of professional and business women. The purpose of the research was to gather information for the development of a marketing strategy aimed at increasing fundraising dollars for the organization’s annual “Catch Your Breath” women’s health event.

Rye Telephone Company: This project supported strategic development plans for a rural telephone company in southwestern Colorado. Focus groups among teenagers and parents were conducted to ascertain telecommunications needs and customer demand for high-speed Internet, video, and on-demand services. Additional research was conducted by telephone surveys across 30% of the town’s telephone customers.

City of Commerce City, Colorado: This project was part of an effort to upgrade the overall image of a municipality within the Denver metro area. The larger goal was to attract and encourage new commercial and residential growth. A variety of research was conducted among several target groups, including city workers, business owners, and local residents. In addition, Elizabeth periodically facilitated meetings and retreats for several city departments.
